Watch The Sweet Moment Dog Reunites With Owner After Being Stolen 4 Months Ago! – Perez Hilton

This is the kind of heartwarming story we need to hear right now!

After four months of being separated, and thousands of dollars spent, a woman in San Francisco has been reunited with her beloved dog amid the global pandemic!!

On Monday, Emilie Talermo received a call from an animal shelter in Palmdale, a SoCal city just north of Los Angeles, to let her know that a dog with a microchip connected to her phone number had been dropped off.

To confirm that it was her pup Jackson, she asked the shelter to send photos. Emilie told ABC News:

“As soon as I saw them, I burst into tears. It was him!”

The search first launched for her 6-year-old dog after he was stolen on December 14 from a grocery store in San Francisco’s Bernal Heights neighborhood, about 370 miles north of where Jackson was found.

She even set up a website, www.bringjacksonhome.com, where she offered a $7,000 “no questions asked” reward to find her blue-eyed mini Australian Shepherd. She got creative and set up a Tinder profile for her dog with white, black, and gray fur in the hopes that someone would recognize him, and even hired a plane to fly with a banner containing the search info over SF and Oakland.

Our hearts!

The 31-year-old was persistent in her search, emailing veterinarians and shelters far and wide asking them to please be on the lookout, and enlisting friends and strangers via social media to share and distribute flyers with Jackson’s information.

Talermo also had the help of friends down in Santa Monica to drive to Palmdale to pick up Jackson, while the SF Police Department detective on the case made the generous offer to make the long haul to the westside city and bring the pup home.

And early on Tuesday, Emilie and Jackson were finally reunited and the timing couldn’t have worked out more perfectly! The dog’s owner said she is moving home to Jackson Hole, Wyoming this weekend, and once it’s safe to travel again, plans to move to Portugal. Things really do have a funny way of working out for the best!!

Luckily, the shelter shared her Aussie was well-fed and taken care of, as he actually returned home a little chunkier, and doesn’t seem “too traumatized,” according to his owner.

It’s been a long road, but of course, Emilie couldn’t be happier to have him home:

“He slept great, he was snoring. He has been basking in the sun in our backyard. I didn’t sleep at all, I was with my eyes closed, smiling. I’m just so happy to have him back in my life.”

We’re so happy for Emilie and Jackson!!
